Sports massage is a form of Deep tissue massage therapy. Sports therapy most commonly called sports remedial massage (SRM), was originally designed with athletics and athletes in mind. In the past sports massage therapy was first utilized as part of a training program that aided athletes in making sure they were in top shape before a big event, it also helped in recovering from the stresses of the same big event as well as reducing the risk of sports injury and avoiding strained muscles with regular treatments.
